It is possible that the battery or alternator is bad. Take it to a Autozone or O'reillys Auto Parts and get the battery and alternator checked. Also the belt that runs the alternator could be slipping.

Just realized looking at this that the battery and alternator can be good with a bad belt. I've asked my son to check into this, though I'm obviously the stupid one. :)
