The anti-theft system is never supposed to disable a car once your driving ...do your lights work ? You may have been driving on battery power and your battery finally went dead ... check the alternator

If your car is not reading the chip in key then it will not start. I had to put a new ignition switch in without chip in the key. I took the key with the chip and laid it above the ignition switch. If it's reading it it'll start if it doesn't read it the theft light will blink real fast. Plus you get the key up there in the right spot your beeper saying your door is open and the key is in the ignition beeps then it is reading it. I hope this helps

It only blinks when the car is shut off. I never saw it before.

I have a 99 Ford Taurus, it wouldn't turn over. battery is good, starter is good (tested), bought a new ignition switch but still wouldn't start. i saw a comment in another video that said to push a little black button that is down by your feet right next to where you plug a code reader into, and it started right up. If anyone knows what the button is, please let me know. Thanks

I have a 2001 ford Taurus and I was driving it and the theft light blinked on and off and my car was disabled on the freeway in a construction zone with barely a shoulder to pull over in. My car will not start. How do I fix it and make sure this doesn't happen again?
