my 2004 taurus wont pick up in speed slow idling and and i was told it may be the cat converter and i need major help in finding how many cats doe my car have and why that problem may of happen

Catalytic converters are part of the exhaust system. Nor surprising that the exhaust system needs some replacement parts. After all, your car is 15 years old. You can go to Rock Auto.com to look for these parts (which can be different depending on the engine.)
