Engine light on please help?

Asked by Brenda Jun 06, 2014 at 11:05 PM about the 2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Ford (Exploder) Explorer Eddie Bauer, and I have taken to the mechanic
and the code reading at first was P0303. They could not figure out what else was
wrong even after they changed spark plugs, ignition wires and cleaned out fuel
injectors. Anyway they put sea foam and fill her up with gas, and drove it until 1/4
tank. Took Exploder back to the mechanic like we agreed I would bcz he said engine
light would turn back on. Anyway, I go back just so he could say he did not know what
else could be wrong with it. This time it is reading P0304. So now he thinks it could be
that the computer needs update. So the symptoms are that no matter how much I
accelerate it seems that it has no power until I hit the 50 mile/hr mark and it idles
when I completely stop. Any thought about what it could be? Oh and I have heard I
believe is the serpentine belt churping at times too. Would that be serpentine belt or
pulley that needs to be replaced?

Thank you , but I forgot to mention that they did change the coil pack and nothing too. and now it is showing misfire changed to cylinder 4 "P0304" after all was done. :(

Well, it's a relief that it is not the computer (expensive) :/ And I replaced the spark plugs when I got it tuned up. But I don't know if they checked the coil boot/spring or coil harness yet. And I forgot to mention that they are changing the water pump too because they said it was leaking, Also radiator water was boiling and bubbling too. Really bumbed and to think I have not had this car for a month, I just bought it needing a reliable car. It seemed good at the time, but as I drove it home engine light turned on. And I did sign the paper where it says buy as is. Bad decision :(

Hi I have a Ford Explorer 03. I just got all spark plugs renewed and misfire codes are still popping up. I also just replaced the catlytic converter.
