Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The Alarm Sounded After Opening The
Driver's Door And I Disarmed It By The
Keypad Instead Of Fob On My 2002 Eddie
Bauer Explorer And Now Motor Turns Over
But Doesn't Start. Found Inertia Switch Was
Up And Pushed It Down. Don't Know Why It
Was Up. Vehicle Hasn't Been Moved In
Days From Where It Was Last Parked. Is
There A Secret Procedure To Get It To Fire
Up Or Has The Fuel Pump Gone Bad By
Coincidence?

After a couple days reading everything online I could find about troubleshooting fuel pump problems, I checked the voltage at the inertia switch and it was around 9volts. I checked the battery voltage and it was 11.3 volts, so I charged the battery all day to get it fully charged. It was at 12.5 when I tried again. same thing engine turned over but didn't start. Checked voltage again at switch and it was around 9 volts then battery again it was 11.5 volts. Took a different known good hot battery and set it in the floor board but the inertia switch. Put a wire to the pink wire that goes to the pump and ground wire to the frame. I immediately heard the pump come on. It cranked up. Moved the hot battery out to the battery installed on the Explorer and used it to jump boost. It cranked again. I went and bought a battery, PROBLEM SOLVED! It was hard to believe the battery was hot enough to turn over the engine but not run the fuel pump!
