I have crown Vic town car ,problem with a gear selector cable disconnected from. under the steering column and the cable that goes up to the letters and Is connected but there is a white clip .can

No.how the other end is attached to the indicator pin .i have the cable I need to install the cable I have .

How about this? By the way, this device is sold as an assembly and cannot generally be repaired if pieces break. Breakage is common and replacements are $25.

The image shows a "gear shift indicator assembly". The white clip that is discussed is the mounting bracket that attaches to the steering column. The small black "thumb-screw" is the adjustment for properly aligning the needle with the gearshift in "N" position. With everything installed and locked down you shift into "neutral" and then turn the thumbscrew to center the indicator needle over the "N".
