Intermittant O/D Flashing

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Dear Team, Please note when I start my car within 2-3 Seconds I can listen to a sound coming close to the transmission & immediately the O/D starts flashing (note, I have haven't moved the car in gear yet) gives me a code P1747. I have checked the entire wiring & found NO damage at all. Once I unplug battery for 5 mins & reinstate it again it goes of for a while & cars runs like as there was no problem or error at all. Please advise what could be the problem. PCM or EPC ?

The problem could be with your EPC inside the transmission. You may have a wiring problem too. It needs to be checked with an ohm meter. That code point to a short to ground in the circuit.

Hi Jeff, Thanks for your response. I wonder why the problem is not stable if it is short to ground ? I drove the car for 10 hours continuously & didn't have the O/D flashing for a second. It is intermittent & goes of once the batter reset. Do you wish me to check by pulling out the EPC solenoid with the ohms meter or the connection to EPC...
