Question type: Maintenance & Repair

trans was shifting hard and sometimes not at all replaced with used trans and same problem any help would be fantastic.

Sounds like both trans. may be bad, or you could have a problem with the kickdown lever adjustment for the transmission, which comes off the throttle and controls trans shifting into the proper gear on older Fords.

if its electronic trans then it sounds like the (tps) throtal possioning sensor thats what controls the trans and allso controls the kick down cause it wont have a kick down cable let me know if that works
