WHY will my 03 chevy silverado 2500hd not engage into park gear when pushing gear handle to park?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After driving I go to park my truck by moving gear handle to parking gear but it will not
read or go into park. I have to try going back and forth until the parking gear engages.

I could see a bad mount making the trans sag so its a bit of out of whack, but the way this is described it sounds more like an eletrical thing? Like the selector switch on transmission itself?
