Can our truck pull a 5th wheel with a GVWR of 11,000#'s?
We are having a hard time believing that our truck can only pull 9200# as we keep finding on the website reviews. We have a long bed if that makes a difference. We purchased this truck to pull a 5th wheel camper and now we are trying to find one within our weight limit. Most of the ones we want are just about 1000#'s too heavy. Everyone we talk to sounds so surprised that our truck wouldn't pull it. Can our truck pull a GVWR of 11,000#'s?
what engine and tranny do you have? is it 4x4? do you have all the hd stuff (oil cooler, trannt cooler, brakes, etc)? my 04 2500 could tow (sold it) 15500, you will lose about 1100lbs in towing because of the 4x4. some of the ratings dont make sense. I would recommend that you ask a "trailer" shop what they "think" is your towing capacity. I used to tow a 39ft terry with mine and my buds dad tows a 33ft 5th wheel with his 05. it might be your engine/tranny holding back the tow rating
