Speedometer

Asked by Lori Sep 23, 2015 at 01:18 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the speed
sensor in my car but
the speedometer still
isn't working so the
transmission won't
shift out of first gear.
What can cause this?

witch speed sensor did you replace , the output shaft sensor is in the trans. is your dash digital or analog. the trans uses pressure to decide when to shift i dont think the speedo will have a effect on shift
