Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I install new fuel pump & fuel filter. I have 1994 Ford Ranger and I remove the
truck bed. You can hear the pump working. The relay click on and gas come
out the gas railing. Try to crank the check engine light comes on like it
suppose to, but the RPM hand does not move. Try everything still can't figure
it out.

A less common cause is a worn starter that draws so many amps while cranking the engine that there's not enough juice left to adequately power the ignition system and fuel injectors. Contributing factors might be a weak battery and/or loose or corroded battery cables.

I'm having same problem. It was sitting up for about 8 months. It started, but ran really rough and gas mileage was horrible. I drove it for about 3 weeks. I had to jump start it if it sat for more than 2 days without being driven. I checked the battery. It was bad. Replaced it. Fuel pressure was only 25 PSI, which is way too low. I lifted the bed and found fuel filler tube was dry rotted and leaking. Replaced that. Then noticed to top of the fuel pump assembly was cracked. Since the fuel pressure was low I was going to test fuel pump with my multimeter. It was bad so replaced it. Pressure is great now. Injectors still aren't working. On my Ranger, the fuel pressure sensor isn't on top of the fuel pump assembly. Its on the frame beside the fuel tank. So, I thought AH HA! Replaced it. It came with the sensor and new pigtail. Still no start. It does however sound much better trying to start. lol On one of my attempts to start it, a fuse blew and it wouldn't even crank. Replaced it. So, it went back to crank no start. I tried using the second key. I tried clearing the brain or whatever its called by disconnecting to negative post and covering the terminal. Then, used a jumper wire with alligator clips on each end. I attached one clip to positive terminal and the other to the negative connector. Left it like that for 10 min. Then, put it back together and turned the key to the ON position for 10 seconds so the brain can learn what it needs to learn. Still no start. I'm going to check starter after seeing this post. Any other suggestions?
