my car is a 1971 manufactured feb. 5 of 71. can anyone tell me the correct part number for the waterpump,I have found contradictory answers.By the way it is a 365/ 454. Thanks

Thanks Tom. I should have by saying I'm restoring to matching numbers. One source says that pump # 3856284 was used on 454s thru Aug. 70. # 386100 was used after that. I have found both with my date codes plus # 3882077 with my date code of Feb. 5, 1971. See my confusion. Can you or any one help?

3992077 is the casting number for a cast iron housing with 5/8 shaft. 3882077 is the aluminum housing with 5/8 shaft.
