07 gs350 check vsc - won't run

Asked by whitington Nov 15, 2018 at 01:41 PM about the 2007 Lexus GS 350 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 07 Lexus GS350 with 131000 miles.  I replaced the headlights and
after that my car will not stay running.  Check VRC error on car display.  It
will act like it is going to stay running after the initial turn over and then goes
dead with everything working:  lights, headlights, radio, GPS,etc.  with the
"check VRC" message.  When trying to start it again it will not turn over
unless you wait a few hours or so and then it will start then shut off and not
start again, only give error message on the display is "check vrc" with
following error lights on: No VRC, P/S, (!).  The battery is less than 3 months
old is good per the local auto parts shop. I disconnected the battery for short
period and let it sit over night.  It does the same thing.  I tried all kinds of fix
methods i read on the internet.  New gas cap. Use manual key in driver's
door by turning it to lock and unlock over and over, nothing.  I hooked up a
code scanner and it won't give an error code.  I really seems like the car has
gone into anti-theft mode since it starts then dies quickly.

Had almost the same exact problem/symptoms on my 06 gs300. It ended up being the fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail. I bought the replacement part off amazon for $35 and replaced it. Car started running like it did before the issue
