Check engine light came on approx 1 month ago. As driving on highway approx 65 mph, car cut out like it was going to die - then kicked back in and drove normally. Filled tank with premium / tightened cap properly. Light went off - no further problem until yesterday / today. Yesterday with a little less than 1/4 tank, light came on with slight cut out at acceleration. Filled up with premium, tightend cap properly. Light went off later in the day. This morning - driving down highway at approx 70 mph (not accelerating) - light came on again, engine cut out significantly as if car would die. Decelerated - to about 60 - drove okay until in stop and go traffic & traffic lights - then cut out each time accelerated. Any idea?? Catalytic converter, fuel injector, need fuel "cleaner" like stp?? Thanks!!

About 3 weeks ago I went to start up my 2009 Honda Civic Sedan lx and lights came on and everything but wouldn't start. On the third time trying to start it none of the lights came on, so I changed the battery. I tried starting it with the new battery, all lights came on perfectly, but it wouldn't turn over. I changed the starter and the car ran fine with no problems for maybe 2 weeks. This morning I was driving down the road when the check engine light came on and the engine suddenly started to rev up uncontrollably. I was able to brake but it was very hard to do because the engine kept revving. Without my foot on the brake the car was going 30 something mph, when I braked and got below 15 I felt a hard downshift. 2015 Jeep Compass with 42,000 Miles. A month ago I was driving on the highway and a lightening bolt came on the dashboard. The Jeep had power to the radio and call but I was pushing the gas and nothing. The bolt flashed for 4 seconds went off and then it drove fine. Last week I was driving and the lightening bolt, check engine light, and traction control came on. The Jeep begin to putt, the radio and all was wokring but it lost gas. I was pressing the gas and nothing, pulled the Jeep over took the key out waited a few seconds and put the key back in and it worked. The check engine light remained on, parked at my house. Came back out about an hour later put the key in and turned it over and all the lights were off and the Jeep has since been running fine. Any help is greatly appreciated, I am pretty stumped. This is a long one. I went in to get my breaks fixed about a month ago. They shaved down the rotors on my two back tires. Well, they checked my other brakes, but forgot to tighten the lug nuts on my front left tire, and it ended up falling off while I was driving. They fixed resulting issues, free of charge. Then yesterday, it sounded like the back brakes were going again, so I took it back to them. They said the BACK brakes, which were supposed to have been fixed originally, a month ago, were metal on metal (they re-graded/shaved down the rotors). They went ahead and replaced the back rotors and pads, but I'm curious... Could the front tire falling off have caused the back brakes to wear out? Or did they just not do a good job originally? Or could something else be causing the brakes to wear so quickly? 11 Answers

I have a 2001 honda accord and today my car wouldnt start up , i tried for about 5 mins then i stepped on the gas a little while i was trying to crank it and it finally turned over! My check engine light is on , i just had a few repairs on my car like changing front o2 sensor and brakes and oil change. My car has been hesitating alot in last few months. when i stop at a stop sign for example and then i press on the gas it takes awhile to feel like its normal full power til i step on it kinda hard then it shoots forward to normal. I had 2 codes coming up on my car , the mechanic cleared one when he changed out o2 sensor it was blistered (code had something to do with heating element) but he couldnt clear other code he was hoping in few days it would clear on its own after my oil change p1259 . any suggestions on what i may need this is my only transportation? 2 Answers
