2000 mitsibishi lancer broke a alternator belt & replaced it but car won't start! Motor turns but won't fire

what caused the belt to break? Are u sure the water pump didnt lock up and take the timing belt out too? If the harmonic balancer stopped suddenly it may have broke your alternator belt
