my 2003 SC430, that I've had for 15yrs - suddenly the right half of the touch screen stopped working. Any fix, short of taking the unit out for repair or replacement?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can't do anything on the screen, because the right half is the active part,
required for any meaningful use.  The left works, but most all of the programs
require the Right half to operate.

You might need to replace the monitor screen. There maybe recycled parts that can be had for a fraction of the OEM part. The last I saw on a chat is around $4K. It does hurt!. If you are in a hot clime zone , protect the dash with a sun screen. The heat from the sun can melt the electronics easily. I live in Canada very close to the south border. I always cover the dash when parking outside under the sun in summer.
