i wanted to know what the best diesel  motor would be to put in a 1988 4x4 ford
ranger

Cummins ISX 600 hp. It may take a little modification though.

    When i run my ranger for very long at speeds of 45 to 70 I have a valve that start pecking realy bad if i let it idle for a while it will stop. This motor has set for a while could it need new lifters...
