Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This may be a dumb question and ill apologize in
advanved.  But i have a 99 z71 4.8 and the alternator
went out.  They are really expensive new and the
struggle is real ..   I have a 96 blazer 4.3.  Will the
alternator cross

The 99 Chevy pickup came with a 5.0L or a 5.8L according to the charts. Did someone swap in a 4.8L? But NO, the one from the blazer won't fit. The engines have to be the same to even consider a match.

try a equivalent from a auto recycling yard and hope that it can work. maybe it can hold till u can afford new. good luck.

Actually guys. This is no lie. It worked. I pro.ise a 96 chevy 4.3 blazer alternator fit my 99 chevy z71.
