Can I fit a 4.3l chevy engine in a 2004 cavaleir car

Asked by XGCM4G Jun 08, 2018 at 08:41 PM

Question type: Car Customization

I want to drop a much bigger 4.3l engine in a 2004
cavaleir body. I'm not concerned with things like
a.c. or non essential components. Only things that
would be important for the vehicle to drive. Is it
possible to do that. I do understand that u need to
get a adapter for mounts an probably the tranny
too.

Rear well drive truck/van set up in a front wheel drive car. If your building a funny race car just use a V8.

That 3.8l FWD version is the transverse 3.8L 60 degree not the 90 degree RWD version, but I have not heard of anyone doing this with a Cavalier.

What part of front wheel drive v/s rear wheel drive don't you understand ??????????????

I appreciate the answers both positive and negative. I asked the question because I wanted to be informed of a choice to try an upgrade the engine without a ton of mods needing done to achieve my goal. I see that a 3.8l is the biggest fwd engine. An that's fine with me. I'm not making a race car. Just something with a bit of power
