Recommend something comparable to xg350l Hyundai

I am in the market for a new used car and would like to find something comparable to the 2004 xg350l Hyundai I am currently driving. I have owned a Subaru, some Volvos, couple of Dodges, and a Scion, but none had the handling, power, pick-up, comfort, and stability of the xg350. Can you recommend a used car in the $7-9K range that would bring me as much enjoyment in driving as the xg350, which is getting high in miles and rusting out from the harsh WNY winters.

Few cars are as bad as a Hyundai but if you like them there are lots of used ones for sale. Most American and Japanese cars will be better.
