okay so i have a 88 gmc 1500. and bought a
5.7 ls1 out of a 2000 gto however i did not
get the wiring harness or computer i was
wondering if i could get a wiring harness
and computer out of any ls/lt based vehicle
for example a 97-2000 chevy 5.3 if so which
would be the best vehicle to take the
harness /computer for the swap

The computers are OBDII, would have been nice to get the one that ran that motor, but anyway, if you take the one for the 5.3 engine, the settings are programmed for the 5.3L & not the 5.7, But I think you could take it to the dealer and have it flashed for the 5.7 LS1 original settings. Just call and check.
