Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1998 GMC K1500 350 engine, number 1 and number 8 cylinders not firing any ideas? Truck is in local repair shop, I know newer vehicles are not easy to diagnosis but here is what they have as possible cause, crank sensor or fuel metering body. Truck will start, running very rough, have to use gas and brake to drive. Wondering if anyone has had this problem.

Are the plug wires original? Lot of people overlook their plug wires until their vehicles start running rough, or just don't start when the weather gets damp. If you have a multimeter, there are online sites to show how to check resistance of the plug wires to see if they're good.

Had to take truck into shop, waiting for update, plugs and wires new, tried a new distributor, no change, replace the fuel system, no change number 1 and 8 still not firing. Shop is not giving up but currently checking with their support for ideas, any suggestions are welcome.
