I'm afraid to replace the starter just
to find out something else is causing
these parts to go out, i've never seen
all three parts to go out one after the
other within two days. The first
battery was fairly new what can I
check to be sure replacing the starter
will fix my problem and not just
cover up the real problem.

Yes i can see it,bad battery lead to bad alternator,bad alternator and week battery caused you to lose starter,because of low voltage,change starter you will be fine,this is one case win one thing go,s bad and causes other thing,s to follow,

I have a 2000 Ford Contour. I ran a few errands yesterday with no issues. I did not hear any changes in how the car starts or how long it takes. I went out to my car today and it does not turn over. All lights/electricity is on, it makes the sound like its trying to turn on, but will not turn. I bought a new battery hoping that was part of it. That is not the issue, left it plugged in over night and did not drain, so it does not appear to be alternator (which was recently replaced) what else could it be? At first, the belt went and so I replaced that, then my son drove it and the compressor froze and has never started since. He drove it to my drive and there it died. So I had to replace the compressor and then it did not even turn over it was completely dead. The battery is only 2 months old. So then I went to the started. One replaced it did turn over. I then got a computer from Autozone and the code said the alternator and that is why I replaced it. So again it only turns but no ignition. So that is why I checked the plugs and the fuel pump because there is no fire. But the fuel pump is pumping fuel. So all the parts have been replaced as a process. I am now reaching 2 Answers
