Would a pearlescent paint job stay okay during a Chicago Winter

Could you put a coat that protects it from rust on top?

i guess it would depend on what the weather is like out there? is it more summer that winter or the other way around or whats it like?

id advice you not to do it unless its garage kept. thats a pretty big advestment to be throwing away siting in the winter trust me i know i live in maine not much last on cars after that sodium chloride. I doubt they us that in chicago but non the less your winters are brutal i heard.
