Some models do not open to the point that the glass is entirely hidden.  Sometimes they are still partially visible to the rear when fully open.

I concur with RudeAwakening - not all sunroofs open all the way.  If you're not satisfied take it to the dealer and ask if this was the way the sunroof is supposed to work.
