new battery wont hold charge

brand new battery wont hold a charge. After it's jumped it rides fine then cuts out and wont restart without jump.could it be alternator or parasitic drain?

Sounds like the alternator if you ride for awhile before she dies on you, just running off of the battery voltage until it is drained. Keep that new battery charged up, running it down takes the life out of it, and have the alternator checked.

Sounds like the alternator is not charging. The alternator can actually show that the voltage may be present, but it's not putting the amps required by your vehicle to run the ignition.Ifyou turn on your headlights your battery will see a quicker failure rate. Have the alternator load tested.
