1997 Geo Tracker engine will fit 1989 Geo Tracker

Hello everyone I have a 1989 Geo Tracker with a
blow head gasket I found today a 1997 Geo
Tracker Engine with 97,000 miles on it, the guy
wants to sell it to me for $250 but I don't know if
the engine will fit I was checking everything in
looks like if he's going to work but I never done it
before so that's why I'm asking, thank you very
much for your help.

those motors are 8 years apart , matching the technology would be harder than putting it in , replace the gasket on the original

The upgrade to fuel injection would be a positive one. If you do it you will need to include the ECU and wiring harness. Not an easy task, but a nice one! Don
