Same issue sort of for me. 2000 Chevy Tahoe Limited 5.7 350. I just put a new crate motor in, replaced IAC, throttle position sensor, spider fuel injectors, upper and lower intake gasket, fuel pressure regulator, mass air flow sensor, cold air intake filter, new plugs wires and cap, new ignition coil. Had the timing done properly. Be honest I’ve lost count of the money I’ve dumped into this thing, but it still does the same shit. Everytime I drive it, the RPMs will surge repeatedly 1500-1800 just bouncing back and forth and the truck lunges / surges when this happens and feels like it has no umph? Then it stops. And all is fine. Also noticed the truck doesn’t like to go into reverse or drive sometimes like it hangs? Then it goes. No clue. At a loss at this point.
