96 Chevy Silverado 4L60E transmission

Asked by Mabull Jul 31, 2019 at 04:51 PM about the Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We just had to replace the transmission on
my husband's Silverado but it still seems to
be having problems shifting out up or down
correctly (it is a used trans.), it seems like it
might be electric. What could cause that? Do
you have to reset the brain?

the used tranny is probably junk like the one you took out . Why you would go through the expense and trouble of replacing a tranny and not go with a newly rebuilt one I don't know

Because the tranny we replaced the old one with came out of a vehicle and was working just fine when it was removed. That's why I asked if it could be electronic. A complete idiot I am not I assure you. We were also told right after changing them out that the clutches and such were just fine in the old tranny which is another reason I ask could it be electronic.
