I have an 03 Evo, I had a similar problem and it turned out to be that one of the clamps on my intercooler piping was loose causing a nasty boost leak and the car would just shut off. I tightened the clamp and havent had a problem since. Plugs are also a possibility, but i would check the piping first. Also If you have Iridium plugs be careful when you gap them because the break easily.
