2006 Subaru Forester issue

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Cruise Control light is flashing
Check Engine light is on (not flashing)
AutoZone tested and code is: P0028
After AutoZone tested, I started the car and Cruise Control and Check Engine
light are no longer on at all.
I have a road trip planned two weeks from now.
Please advise asap.

Do an oil change and see if it helps. There are other causes too. https://www.engine- codes.com/p0028_subaru.html

somebody named (F_O_R) replied that I should do an oil change. the car was inspected two weeks ago, oil change done at that time

Check connector to VVT solenoid. If connection is good change that solenoid. If same code reflashes you have a clogged high pressure line to the solenoid. MAYBE a strong flush will dissolve the crud. If not the head needs to be rebuilt. Not worth it for a 13yr old ImpFor.

All I did was have AutoZone put the diagnostic equip on my Suby and ever since then, the cruise light isn't flashing and the check engine light is no longer steadily on. Could it be that something got reset ? The car is not and has not been running rough at all. She actually purrs !
