How did your car perform after the 3.73.I have a 1985 thunderbird with the 302 efi. Bought the car and pulled the engine out and had engine rebuilt and mild cam installed came back with lack of power compared to before rebuild. Then was told to change rear gears .Was told to go with 3.73 so tryed this has more snot but is missing that get go.Just found a website OLDFUELINJECTION.COM and they give a list of what not to do to a fuel injection engine. And yes cam is one of them wish I left the stock cam in.

My son had a '94 Mustang Gt with a 5.0 in it(with 3.73 gearing). He put in a cam and trick flow heads. The biggest thing is to get the computer tuned to the modifications. It definately did have a lot more power than stock. If possible, yo may have to put a newer type of fuel injection on it. You probably have the speed density type, you would have to change it to the mass air flow type.

Thanks for the info .I will look into this.I would rather not have to open this motor back up.
