i have a 1993ford f150 inline 6 300 i put a new starter in it and a silaniod truck starts up when i push start it when i try to uuse the key iiittt clicks anyyyyy hhheeeeelp

truck will only start when pushed into gear driving down the road n it just
randomly shuts down but i can start it right back up as long as im still moving  i
know its prolly stupid but theeres no key only flat head scredriver and it used to
start like that  and now it just clicks  and som etimes dont even do that it will
compleatly shut the power down to everything  .

Just bought one yesterday n put it in same day also it will start if pushed today I hit a water puddle n it shut my truck right down I was moving so I put the truck in gear n started it back up after start up it will idle n run fine just shts down sometimes when I hit bumps but it will start right back up don't make sense also today it was wineing today n when it was running n I tried to engane the starer it made a noise other then click ?? Compleatley stumped

when i hook up the battery it trys to engage it but it just clicks iv tryied cross jumping the cilaniod also and nothing but a click also its a manual
