what years of alternators fit a 2002 ford explorer

was told only 2001 to 2005 fit a 2002. I have a 2000 alternator, will it fot the 2002?

Go to a parts sight like autozone. Plug in the info on your vehicle and look for the alternator. If the part numbers are the same for both vehicles with the same engine it will work.
