Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Do you have to replace the gas tank if a valve is stuck causing the nozzle to
shut off when filling the tank with gas?

Could also be as simple as replacing charcoal filter in EVAP canister. The gas pump nozzle shuts off when pressure builds in filler neck, but your tank isn't venting that pressure properly so it's shutting off nozzle prematurely. One of the most common causes for not venting properly is the charcoal filter in the EVAP canister has gotten soaked (in gas) over time, especially when people try to squeeze a little extra gas into the tank after the nozzle's initial shutoff.
