Van trying to start without a key in the ignition and the ignition is off

Asked by Guru5QQXZ Apr 26, 2018 at 07:32 AM about the Chrysler Grand Voyager

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 dodge grand caravan
that starts without a key in it and no
one close to it. I test drove the van and
loved it, stopped for gas and had no
problems. Drove it the rest of the way
home. Turned off the van, then about 3
minutes later it started to turn itself
over and over again with the keys
sitting on the dashboard. Do you have
any idea what it might be? Do you have
any idea where I should start looking to
stop it. I will do the process of
elimination, but would like to know
where I should start the process. Do
you have any idea what it might be?

Try reprogramming the key to see if the problem stops. Go online and you will find the information.

The problem was to simple, all I did was spray some wd-40 in the ignition and problem solved. See older Chrysler cars are bad for the key not turning off all the way and being able to take your key out.So if this happens to you try this 1st,then go on and check the solenoid then check to see if you have a auto start
