Do you smell coolant? If so then a blown head gasket is the likely culprit.

Sounds like a head or intake gasket blown. Do a compression test on all cylinders to confirm. Can also do a exhaust in coolant test. White smoke == coolant. Blue smoke== oil. Black smoke== running rich. Antifreeze smells like oil or sweet smell when burned in the engine. Coolant smoke disappears after a while and oil smoke hangs around a bit longer. Black running rich smoke goes away faster than oil smoke but may last in the air longer. The coolant smoke is steam so when it reaches air temps it disappears. Some water dripping from tail pipe before up to temp is not a issue but if your dripping water from tail pipe all time thats another sign. Running hot is a sign. Coolant level dropping is a sign. Coolant or oil mixing in either the crankcase or radiator is an advanced sign of head or intake gasket issues.
