I am looking at a couple of fiat 124 spiders to purchase. 1980 that need body work, interior work, new top and don't know for sure how it runs. $1550.00. Also 1982 that looks in good shape body interior and top. Also don't know how it runs. This one has a gold grill. $5000.00. Any idea on what the best value would be???? Also what do I need to watch out for if I want to purchase one or the other. Thanks, Eric

I worked for Fiat North america For 25 Years. They stopped importing in 1992 and now they have just come back with chrysler/ what you need to look for is the Timing belt could be old and maybe even broken and damaged engine bent valves and Busted pistons plus aven Block damaged. also electrical shorts very possible. also the top condition and water leaks very common. I have a 1978 that runs great that you should buy instead. Its the 124, top is in good condition. Needs a little body work and interior love, mechanically road worthy and looks good. Contact me here https://www.facebook.com/aprilbrandon.benkoyl and you can see pics too.
