Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am looking for an used SUV bellow, lets say, $10k. My Family wants me to
stick to Japanese cars but Hondas/Tototas in that price range are super old. I
have convinced myself that only Nissan Rogues fit the bill but at the same
time I am curious of why there are sooo many Rogues being sold as used
cars? Is it that people don't like them? I thought Nissan was an OK brand.  I
would say that there are like 3 Rogues/Muranos for every SUV of another
brand-- I know it is a bit exaggerated.

I know an older Honda would probably still be better but I am not the best at
parking and so, I have been looking with cars with back-up cameras. The
rare used Honda SUV that I see within my budget generally dont have a
camera.

Nissan is a good brand, but they absolutely flooded the market with inexpensive SUV's there for a while. The Rogue and Murano are good little SUV's and you will have no problem finding one that fits your budget. Be sure to be a tad bit picky though when searching because of the amount of options you have. You should have a bit of haggling power too! Good luck in your search!

Do not whatever you do buy a Nissan with a CVT transmission!!!! These transmissions are probably the worst ever made. You will regret the day you ever looked at the car!

@ConnerSpeed6 thanks for the help. @F_O_R You mean CVT in general or just the ones made by Nissan? If so, why? Do they break easily. If I remember correctly, all rogue I have looked at have CVT

I would not buy any CVT car but Nissan's CVT is the worst. Look up Nissan CVT issues. The failure rate has been extremely high.

Although there are other issues that can be wrong with your Nissan Rogue, the transmissions problems are the most prevalent in all of the following models. From 2008-2018, transmission problems have plagued the cars, causing some pricey repairs and replacements that owners will have to take care of.
