Anyone ever changed wheel hub assembly?

If so, how hard is it and did you do both sides?  How long did it take. Our front right one is going out but we wonder if we should just go ahead and just change both.

its really not to hard to change after you take the wheel off take the brake caliper and rotor off there will be a big somtimes gold color nut in the center of the wheel studs its very tight so you might need help getting that off if you dont have an impact wrench that will release the axle from the hub and there will be three bolts on the back side of the  spindle holding the hub on take those out and the hub will come out then you can put it back together the reverse of how you took it out the hub bolts and the axle bolt just need to be tightened to recomended spec and also the wheel. as for replacing the other side i wouldn't right now unless you really want to it will go out sometime GM's tend to have a problem with hubs but you dont have to replace it now. it will take a couple of hours your first time its not to bad.

the gold nuts are only with the aftermarket hubs .not with the OEM parts

Actually the gold nut is OEM, it's called the axle nut, and it holds the end of the drive axle in the hub assembly.
