Question type: General

1969 430 2.56 rear actual empirical top speed

2 Answers

Theoretical Top Speed @ 5,000 RPM HP PEAK for 27.3" tall tire, drive ratio 2.56 is 158.7mph. I have driven a stock Electra to at least 130mph and suspect at least 140 is possible with enough road. Modified Electra's such as the twin turbo- supercharged fuel injected Electra GSX have a theoretical Top Speed of 212 mph. Actual performance, due to drag and stability issues may be 180-200mph.
