rear window shattering - '76 Eldorado Convertible

Asked by Guru9S3TT Jun 30, 2017 at 08:15 PM about the 1976 Cadillac Eldorado

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Friend bought a '76 Eldorado and when he put the top down the rear window shattered -- nothing in the trunk or rear boot area. Any info about any problems with these old GM convertibles, or perhaps the rear defrost iring causing it??

1 Answer

Something with a sharp point is pressing on the glass or otherwise stressing it. I would carefully inspect everything while lowering and raising the top.
