Why is my water pump light on my dash on in my 69 eldorado

Water pump light? I have never heard of a water pump light but can you tell us what it looks like?

It just like a gen light its red rectangular just like all the other lights ,I've never seen it before until today
The gen light is not on ,only the water pump light is on
Does the light say water pump on it or is is an engine coolant high temperature warning? I cannot find any reference to a water pump light,
If you can post a photo of the light someone might be able to help you.
The light says water pump I will try to get a pick tomorrow
If it really is a water pump light then your pump may need replacing. Is the car over heating or having any other cooling system problems?
If your car has an electric water pump then check it.
