Sounds like the cooling system needs to be purged from the air that is trapped. Anytime you open up the cooling system it needs to be purged. Check this out on how too.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUpXgAJ1gjU

I have a 2008 pontiac torrent..the mechanic said he bled the lines do you think the hatter core needs to be flushed

If the vehicle is not over heating, then you could try a flush, it would hurt for the radiator to be flushed anyway. Most of time that is what it takes. So a cooling system flush would be good to do.

Head gasket only if the engine was overheating would be one cause, but since it is not just the radiator and heater core flush is necessary, cooling system flush.

It is obvious there is no really manufacture that wants to spend out their money along wth keeping their service men tide up. Though no solution seems to be solved as the consumers as there is a big problem "With HVAC part, mainly NO HEAT, most of us or some may not be qualified to be taking dashes apart just for a guess. I had good heat well great heat in my 2006 Pontiac Torrent. I had went to eat and it offers valet parking, upon leaving my car it was great when the valet person brought it back nothing! Just because I had to park valet I have money, they use due to parking for the disabled and I am. I have read many sites to try and see what others has done and it seems they have done all the troubleshooting offered as well as spending money a goose chase. I researched and seen if there was a recal and there wasn't. But WE CAN put the bug in their ears to research by that get as many email the link I am about to leave to them as they can research the problem, They can't fix what they don't know as we don't know what it is to fix it! So this is the first step, this isn't no scam there is a website you can google "Recalls on Vehicles" and of course nothing at all showed on the Torrents. So share this with fellow sites you may have visited and get them as many complaints as possible rather you still own one or not please participate providing while you owned the car and experienced the same issues Please and Thank You for taking the time and reading all this www.nhtsa.gov/recalls
