Does a LCM for a 2008 Mercury Marquis need to be programmed?

If it needs to be programmed, can I do it or must I go to a dealer? Where do I get programming instructions?

My 2005 didn't need programming, I don't think it does. Usually they are just replaced with a rebuilt one.
