Whenever I start my truck, my battery wont charge until I drive around for ten minutes. If i turn my truck off for about 10 hours I once again have to drive for another 10 minutes before it charges...

I drive and 05 2500HD 6.0L gas. If I run my truck on the battery isn't charging
and I have to drive for about 10 mins before the battery starts to charge...
since it charges after 10 mins I don't believe it is the alternator... what else can
it be?

is truck always needing a jump before you start it? have battery and altenator checked. sometimes thats a sign of the altenator or battery about to go out. sometimes they half ass go out.

Start your Truck while its running pull the ground cable off the battery, if it want to die, its your alternator..

some of these new cars now a days have to have a battery to stay running

That year chevy was made with dead spaces in the ground cable running from your battery which allows oxygen in and starts to corrode there for losing conductivity when you do get it cranked once the ground heats up a bit and expands you get better current thus the charging. Went through 4 batteries and 2 alternators before discovering this myself.

But first check the other end of the ground coming from your battery there is a couple
