Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Chrysler 300 that needed
the ignition switch replaced I went to
Pick-N-Pull and got a ignition switch
from a car that was compatible now
why won't my car start and I was told
the key need to be coded because that
is cuz I was also told that my car was
programmed to my ignition switch and

That's right , after 1995 the key has a chip along with a transponder in the switch that tells the computer to go ahead and allow the car to run . Now it all has to be programmed at the dealer more than likely . Where you should have gone in the first place , this is why you can't hot wire a car despite what you see in the movies , without the chip it ain't gonna run . Kinda makes all those car alarms unnecessary . No one wants to steal your crappy car anyways .
