Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car dies instantly when I press the
brakes, it will turn on just fine, but when I

mycar just completely dies.

Sounds like it could be a vacuum leak to me. Does the engine idle smoothly in park(without the brakes applied)?

I would check the vacuum lines then. If not, make sure the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation system) isn't clogged. Is there a hissing from the brakes? If that is the case it could be a bad brake booster (like my truck, it stalls if I floor or slam on the brakes).
