1980 RX7

Car sat for awhile, I replaced battery it started up a
few times that day. Then sat for a few days now it
won’t turn over, I did notice when I turned the key
on the rpm needle will jump to 5000 rpm and stay
that spot. Any suggestions???

sounds like a battery issue, first start there. Then to get it to run, put ATF ( automatic transmission fluid ) into the intake you may need to inject it in a vacuum port.this will help the apex seals to expand and give you more compression,but please open a door because when it fires up it will smoke like crazy.
